TV Guide Talks Yvonne Strahovski on DEXTER

There's a spoiler heavy interview with the DEXTER show runner over at TVGuide.com that you can check out at this link. In it we find out a lot more about Yvonne's character:

"She plays this woman named Hannah, who took off from this small rinky-dink Florida town and ran off with this older guy and they went on this wild killing spree. So when they got caught, she turned state's evidence on the boyfriend, he went to jail for life and she started a new life. Years later, she's in her 30s and she will intersect with Dexter."

There is more info about her character in the article. Follow the link above for more.

So, what do you think? Are you more or less excited to watch?

  1. The fact that the running away with an older man bit is her backstory and not her plotline kinda sucks. But, the streak continues. YS, bangin old dudes on screen since 2005ish.

    1. So funny... I mean, it has been our little running joke for years now and it must be in her contract to play a character who had a troubled past with an older man.

    2. Hopefully it wasn't a 16 yr with 50 yr old or whatever. Maybe 18 with a 30 or something. I hope they have her having to meet him again somehow like in prison or courtroom.

Also, maybe she turned state's evidence but lied about her involvement. She says he did it all and she just was there, but in reality she did participate and Dexter senses this.

  2. "So, what do you think? Are you more or less excited to watch?"

It doesn't change my anticipation. Her being on the show means I'll watch.

The description sounds "par for the course" for a Dexter character.

I just hope the season is better than last and Yvonne isn't the only reason I'm watching.

    1. Based on the last two seasons I don't expect I will watch for any reason other than Yvonne.

  4. He said she would 'intersect with Dexter'! I wonder if he was trying to be funny since she has an intersect in her head!

  5. The phrase "wild killing spree" sounds like it will make for a good back story. I'm definitely intrigued.

  6. Will it be kinda of weird to see the sweet and adorable Yvonne strapped to Dexters table? Then he slices her face for his collection .... I cannot watch!

  7. Oh and yet again she plays a character older than her actual age... She is just 30 in July and in the show she will be in her 30's...on chuck she was a couple of years older than her actual age until season 4 or 5 where they changed it back to her normal age.

    1. That's probably more because of the needs of the character's backstory.

On Chuck, they probably did it to make her skill level and experience be more extensive. Until they didn't care about it anymore.

Is there a real problem? It's only a few years difference.

    2. I thought that was just the way Hollywood worked when casting actresses. They want women especially, to look younger and more attractive than they would normally so they cast an actress 25-31 to play a "30-ish" woman. If you're an actress and your actual age is 35+ you are either a mom-type character or that lady from Body of Proof. Also, it seemed like maybe the interviewee was just trying to give a sense of the time gap between the info from the back story of the character and the point in which the character enters the current show timeline.

  8. From what i know about Dexter it sounds like a typical character for this show. But I'll hold off all final judgments until i actually see her in character, of course. My excitement level is about the same. I just cant wait to see her back on my screen:)
