Furycast 59 - Schweddy Balls

VladyGG and HGF whine about their listeners, or lack thereof, while also somehow remembering to talk about STAR WARS, THE HOBBIT, IT, getting old, relationships, sleeping habits, going to concerts, making videos, playing video games, Gandalf the Gay and other stuff.

ATTENTION: I am doing something different this time. The podcast is being posted as a YouTube video which has my own personal video game footage (mostly Diablo 3, but also some from Planetside 2, Dishonered, and Borderlands 2). I am also including the usual iTunes upload and MP3 download link but depending on how you decide to access the podcast, I will most likely get rid of one or more of those options in the future. Listen to the podcast for why I am doing that.

Press play below (choose 720pHD in bottom right corner of the video).

You can also DOWNLOAD this podcast as an MP3 by right clicking on this link and saving it to your hard drive. I recommend this since it is of a higher quality.

If you have any questions or comments that you want addressed on a future podcast, feel free to call us at 201-639-GEEK (4335) and leave a message!

  2. I am probably the only one who got that far. lol. "We all float below."

Great podcast man. Funny as hell to. With Gandalf the gay and the "I'm counting the days till old St. Nick arrives on my chimney." WTF! lol. So many great lines.

And i cant wait for the Hobbit either. Still thinking about whether or not to see it it in 3d. But im probably more then likely gonna see it in 2d. And in 24fps.

At this point, you may be our only dedicated listener.

    2. Thanks Magnus! :)

Also, i was wondering why you didn't talk about Dexter(Yvonne), and whats up with the podcast you uselessly do with Jess? Because for the past couple of weeks you guys haven't done one. Just curious.

    3. We decided to only talk about things that pop up organically. So, DEXTER didn't pop up. Actually, that's not true... we did talk about it AFTER we stopped recording.

Since Jess is on the west coast and works nights, we usually can only get together on Sunday after midnight my time to do the podcast. Two weeks ago I couldn't make it and this week she was busy.

  3. FWIW--there are a few podcasts in the past weeks I skipped because you talked about TV shows I haven't seen yet. That plays into whether I listen or not. It's more my fault than yours that I can't get caught up.

...and not having electricity for 13 days.

    1. I understand. But it isn't just you... it's just a general loss of interest for whatever reason. Perhaps we are just not that interesting, or there is a billion podcasts, or we don't cover the topics people want to hear about.

And I know exactly what topics I could cover to get more listens. But I've always had problems doing something JUST TO become or stay popular. I have a difficult time doing something that feels false. In the grand scheme of things, that is probably what hurts me most... not just with the podcast, the site, or my YouTube page, but in general. If I was better at faking it, I would be so much better off.

    2. I've seen this happen before. I've belonged to private mailing lists devoted to specific TV shows. When the shows go off air, we've tried to change topics to other shows, but, inevitably, there is a big slippage in participation. Not everyone watches the other shows that get discussed and they lose interest or get involved in other forums that are discussing some other show 100% of the time. It's more math and probability than anything else.

I think your podcasts are very good and very entertaining.

BTW--if you do get back to talking about Dexter and Yvonne, I'd love to hear your thoughts on Yvonne's super-successful Broadway debut. She's gotten some great reviews. Tony possibility?

    3. Yeah, I've been part of that before. It is like college. People try to keep in touch but within a year you barely talk to anyone.

There are plans afoot to discuss the Broadway stuff but I can't say more right now about it. I am very excited to get to it, though. Well, IF I get to it.

      You know me....

    4. It's okay if you don't get to it.

I'm just super-thrilled for her success. Doing live theater is such a challenge regardless, but this particular role is very challenging because she's so exposed. The play is a long one--nearly three hours including two intermissions--and she is in many scenes.

  4. Keep shouting into the wind Magnus

    So funny at 40mins
