That's the only important thing that happened there.

Discuss!

  1. Well deserved. Really didn't care about the other awards. Props to Joel Mchale for the Dan Harmon Shoutout. Its also funny that right when you start bashing the awards for excluding Community, thats when it wins, lol. #sixseasonsandamovie!!!

  2. Award shows are dumb but anything that puts attention on this great show is good. #fourseasonsandsyndication

  3. I spit on the graves of all those who vote in award shows! But still... winning one of these is like a big fuck you to Sony and NBC for the Dan Harmon firing. So, I am fuckin' happy!

    1. Hypothetical question ,

Say Community wins the EMMY for best comedy . Does it still stay on Friday nights ? Could/would they consider premiering it earlier to capitalize on the publicity ?

    2. That's an excellent question. I will ask my NBC guy about it later today.

I'd say it is unlikely to change the schedule. However, it will definitely change how NBC approaches its advertisement of the show. Hell, this award will change how they advertise the show.

Here's my bit of conjecture (and we shall see what the ninja says later): I bet if it wins an Emmy for best comedy (highly unlikely as the Academy is full of clueless twits), then NBC will happily keep it around for a full season... and perhaps beyond. But it will come down to what Sony wants to do licensing wise.

Also, the Emmy potential will be very much decided by NBC and/or Sony and their willingness to put money into campaigning for it.

    3. cool . Hopefully you can share some of that information .

If Community ever has a chance to win an Emmy , thus is the year now . They got that exposure last night and there still like 10 days left for Emmy voting . Sony should be campaigning hard for it for the next week or so . Spend a little money now , maybe get a win and MORE episodes to their bottom line . Seems like a no brainer , but they were the ones that fire Dan Harmon so ... Same goes for NBC . They have a tonn of money behind them , spend some of it and get people's attention to the show . Wasn't that their gripe that the show wasn't broad enought to get casual viewers ? You know what gets casual viewers ? WINNING a FUCKING EMMY . Would most of those viewers stick with the show after they sample it ? Maybe , maye not . But at least put the effort into it .

If they did win , would that make Sony more willing to lower the licensing fee for more episodes , or would they want a higher one to justify the award recognition ?

    4. We shall see what happens with the Emmy thing. I'm pretty sure NBC and Sony will get together on sharing some of the cost. I am basing that on history not any insider info.

I haven't heard anything yet from the ninjas regarding your earlier question.

    5. No worries :) . Anything you can share after you hear from the ninjas would be awesome .

Do you think we'll get to see John Oliver again this season ?

  6. Well Megan Ganz will be joining the Community panel at comic con . At least we'll get a little information about the direction of the show going forward without Dan .

I take it you haven't heard back from the ninjas yet ?

    1. Do you think that's the one they submitted though ?

What were your top 5 fav eps from ths year ?

    2. They'd be idiots to submit anything but that episode because it shows off Dan Harmon's mad genius while still being easy to understand as a concept.

As for what my top 5 episodes are... just go through all my reviews of season 3 for that answer. :)

    1. I tweeted my thoughts on it but if you don't follow my tweets religiously... and I have no idea why you don't... I thought it all sounded like a nice fanfic.
